Theophilus London is no stranger to our city. Last night, Tuesday January 31st, 2012 he performed at Grand Central. Steven A Clark was the opening act. SAC play list consisted of: Love Effortlessly, Found’ (ft. Albert Vargas), Seashore, Lonely Roller, She’s In Love and Don’t Have You. His performance was full of emotion. Steven A Clark put together a great performance. His style reminds me of John Legend & Brian Mcknight.
In between Steven A Clark and Theophilus Dj Venus X played a dope all around set. She had the crowd jumping hard. You can fallow her @VenusxGG .
Lastly, Theophilus London hit the stage. Theophilus is known for being one of the most fashionable artist in the game. His style is unmatched. He performed for a good hour or more. Here is the list of songs: Last Night, Rare Sex, Last Name London, Why Even Try, LISA, Overseas, Girls $ Money, Big Spender, Last Name London (Brodinsky RMX), Piny & The Brain, Itaintright, Groove ME, I Stand Alone, Strange Days and All Around The World. The show was dope! Big ups to his band mates Dj Brendan Fallis, Phony Ppl, Tracy and Watts. Enjoy our recap.
via GC: Culture vultures and hardcore music fans alike know Theophilus from his self-starting music trajectory as well as from his style icon profiles from GQ to Esquire. His album Timez Are Weird raises the bar on everything that’s come before, moving past the comfort zone of sampledelia and oddball cover tunes into the dreamlike headspace of a globetrotting young artist blurring the lines between 80’s rap, new wave beats, freestyle noise and the snarling guitars of psychobilly surf rock.
