I don’t know much about HAN KJOBENHAVN; however, this retail space would get all my money regularly. I feel I can get in and out in no time. Not much clutter, just goods… Maybe more stores should adopt this approach… Less is more! (click through for more)
Jay Strut is a very well styled blogger I became familiar with via social media. During the days before EN NOIR’s Fall/Winter New York Fashion Week show Jay had the opportunity to be present while the fitting was taking place. Read more HERE.
Ronnie Fiegs latest ASICS GT-II “High Risk” sneaker collaboration released yesterday online. The high demand for the shoe caused it to sell out in seconds but if you’re near any of the Kith NYC stores you may have a chance to get a pair right now! By the way NO PHONE ORDERS so good luck.
Capsule Trade show is known to bet the place were you’ll find some of the best up-and-coming labels. With that being said buyers and everyone who’s able to attend make sure to look PROPER. Here are a few who stood out from the rest. Amongst them of course Ronnie Fieg, as always was killing it. Wearing his own, Kith pants and before anyone had seen them, the RF for GRENSON Fred boot. Remember, always look PROPER we’re always watching…
Versace needs no introduction. As part of their Fall 2013 Collection they will offer these two different black sneakers, both high top. One features patent leather with a high ankle strap and a classic VERSACE medusa on the front laces. The other features premium leather with a high ankle monkstrap and a side zipper.
I also added a couple of shots of their new Croc VERSACE Briefcase… What are your thoughts?
Project NYC: Del Toro Luxury Lifestyle label out of Miami was also showing their exiting 2013 collection. Amongst the highlights: the paisley, tie-dye and red soles Alto Chukka sneakers. “Our brand philosophy and core values have always been the same: To produce socially relevant menswear that is ultra wearable while showcasing our British eccentricities. As our business has evolved so too has our aesthetical taste and this is very apparent throughout our collections. Our aim is to build a brand with longevity – In 20 year’s time we believe Marshall Artist will still remain as a staple British Heritage Brand.”
“Our aim is simple: Modern Tailoring for Modern People.”**
Project NYC: LA brand CIVIL clothing has a very interesting take on the classic Motorcycle jacket for Fall/Winter 2013. The jacket features mix materials with a heavy gold zippers, very well done! They keep it consistent with some dope headwear as well.
Project New York Menswear trade show was very exiting. It was held at Pier 92 (299 South Street, NY). Style is not about what you wear but how you wear it. Here is some streetstyle we capture during Project.
These two latest collaborations are available at Kith NYC. The image came through Ronnie Fiegs Instagram. One is the second part of the Kith x BWGH “New York vs Paris” collection. The other one is the EBBETS Fields flannel hats. For more information go to KITHSET.com
Street artist KAWS is the fifth living artist to have a floating balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The city of New York allowed Macy’s to use one of their trains to market the event. If you’re in New York you can catch the KAWS all over art subway going exclusively from Grand Central 42nd street to Time Square.
Maybe the City of Miami would allow an artist to wrap one of the Metro Rail trains…
Just like that, Miami brought its pool party atmosphere to New York’s Union Square Park in order to boost tourism. The Pop Up Pool took place a couple of days ago from 12-6 pm. The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau made it happen on Tuesday as part of their “It’s So Miami” marketing campaign.
The BMCVB reps provided New Yourkers with information about summer deals. They also included a swimwear fashion show, salsa-dancing demo, on-site Miami Spa Month massages, a Miami Spice cooking demo and Cuban coffee demo. I’m sure people were going crazy over it…
Imagine, thousands of people doing Yoga at the same time! The energy will be amazing!
On August 16, 2012, we’re hosting the largest crowd-funded event in history. 15,000 people will assemble on the Great Lawn in Central Park for music, performances, and yoga in unison — and we’re asking you to contribute to make this a reality.
We’ve scored top talent, including Reggie Watts as MC, Questlove from the Roots on turntables, and rock-star yoga instructors Elena Brower, Seane Corn, Colleen Saidman, and Rodney Yee leading us through poses on the greatest lawn in the world.
This is one of only three events allowed to happen on this coveted space this year, and the city requests that we make it FREE for over 13,000 participants (there are 1,500 limited VIP tickets). To make history this summer, we’re raising more than $600,000 from our community — to pay for the space, performers, security, and the stage. 50% of the profits will go to charity, and everyone who contributes will get sweet gear and/or top-notch classes from our amazing partners.
Let’s show the world that together, we can fund this historical event. Support and join GLBL YOGA on the Great Lawn this summer!
**Welcome to GLBL YOGA: New York City
On August 16, 2012, we’re going to turn Central Park’s Great Lawn into the world’s largest yoga studio, NYC-style.
Tens of thousands of New Yorkers united by the practice of yoga, led by world-renowned teachers Elena Brower, Seane Corn, Colleen Saidman and Rodney Yee. Live soundtrack laid down by Questlove and DJ Drez. And the incomparable Reggie Watts rockin’ it as host and MC.
What’s GLBL YOGA all about?
Our mission is to build unity and foster community in cities around the world, tapping the collective energy and human spirit of the urban environment to create large-scale, crowd-funded yoga events. First New York, then the world.
We believe that yoga is for everybody – novice and master alike – and we’re convinced that the world would be a better place if we all learned to take a moment to breathe, connect, and experience the peace and well-being that yoga provides.
Why New York, and why now?
We’re New Yorkers after all – and we love it when the City leads by positive example. Besides, what better place than New York to celebrate the strength and transcendent beauty of thousands of people from incredibly diverse backgrounds joining together in harmony? And what bigger stage than New York to launch a global movement, designed to bring people together, on one day, in one place, in pursuit of one goal: happiness?
Yoga is a unique physical language that bridges cultural and linguistic barriers and speaks to the deep interconnectedness we share as human beings. We can’t think of a more urgent need in these difficult times than unity, as expressed by the beautiful and universal language of yoga.
Who’s behind this?
GLBL YOGA: NYC is brought to you by Flavorpill and Matter Unlimited, two NYC-based companies passionate about creating positive impact in the world.
As you may have heard by now Cole Haan is part of Nike. For a while they have been collaborating dress footwear. In the past they did Black leather chukka with an air sole so it was just a matter of time for them to work on other silhouettes so they kept it classic with a wingtip. These are exclusive to the COLE HAAN SOHO store and will be available tomorrow March 3rd, 2012.
Here is a preview of Ronnie Fieg x ASICS GT-II ‘Rose Gold’. The shoe sims to be well balanced between rose and grey around the logo including the stripe. A show stopper for those on the know… Stay tunned for release dates and information.
In case you haven’t heard by now Vans got together with DQM to open DQM’s second location in SOHO. The Vans DQM General will keep its authenticity and attention to the skateboarding lifestyle wich keeps growing in NYC. Read all the details and see the rest of the images from the store. If you’re planing on attending the event you must RSVP and get there early…
**DQM is proud to announce the opening of our second store, in partnership with Vans, The VANS DQM General. The store is located in the heart of Soho at 93 Grand Street, in a landmark building and a neighborhood full of history. The General will not only carry on the mindset, respect and authenticity of DQM, but teams it up with the knowledge and values of Vans, to cater to the growing skateboarding and lifestyle community in New York City and beyond.
“Over the past five years, no fewer than 100 people have asked me why we don’t have a store in New York City,” says Doug Palladini, Vans’ Vice President of Marketing. “My answer always was that we had so many great wholesale partners that our own store didn’t make sense, so when Chris from DQM approached us, it was the perfect opportunity. Chris and DQM really understand Vans as well as city culture and history, and know just how to bring our brands together to make something new and relevant for an area like SoHo”.
“Vans has been a huge part of my life in New York both in the world of professional skateboarding – I rode for Vans for a time in the early 90s – and then as a retailer, selling them to my customers every day for the past 8 years,” says Chris Keeffe, founder and owner of DQM. “Vans has this long and storied history coming out of California, but at DQM we felt like the story of what Vans means to people in New York City can still be told through the prism of our Vans experience: we don’t have pools to skate and we have snow on the ground for five months a year. We grew up finding a way to wear Vans that fit the style and climate of our city. I wanted to create a space where we can tell this story from the ground up; a place that’s rooted in our local community and makes sense to New Yorkers.”
The General will carry a curated selection of Vans footwear and apparel for men, women and kids; DQM apparel; and a small collection of DQM for VANS designed apparel and footwear available only at the New York store.
The Vans DQM General officially opens Thursday 9/15 at 93 Grand Street. Hours will be 11 am – 7 pm. Monday – Friday and 11 am – 6 pm Sundays. Ph. 212.226.7776. Follow us on Twitter @VANSDQM.**
