I went to The Salty Donut once and didn’t think it was great; however, I decided to give them a second chance. I also wondered if there was something wrong with me because every person I spoke to seemed to think that their donuts were great so, the opportunity arose. My friend got invited to a pop up soft opening in Miami Beach. He was kind enough to gift his second ticket to guess who; yes, yours truly.
I took his offer. Not knowing what to expect, I headed out there before noon. To my surprise the Miami Beach location, where the pop up is held, was nice and calm. No three hour wait. I was able to get my donuts right away… They were fresh and just looked delicious. I didn’t taste them right away. I wanted to take photos plus, I needed my trusted crew to try every single donut with me. Yes, I ordered every donut they had that day.
I went home, researched how to preserve donuts fresh overnight, packed them and in the morning headed out to meet with my clique, LOL. They were eagerly awaiting because of my last experience with Salty Donut after the long wait… Anyhow, so here we all were. I did the honors and started with the Chocolate vegan and gluten free donuts… They were moist and delicious. I couldn’t believe how good they were… Then I moved over the the Nutella spiked donut holes… Jesus! This was good…
I’m going to spare you the gory details but every single one was great. My standout favorites are Spiked donut holes, Maple Bacon and Brown Butter/Salt. You should try them all. Also, make sure you try the seasonal donut. Their donuts were great and if you share them with people you care about they’ll be that much more enjoyable.
