Musician, fashion trendsetter, and all around NYC cool kid, Theophilus London announced a special collaboration with Del Toro Shoes over the weekend. The Brooklyn musician has taken Del Toro’s fashionable slipper and has done what he does best- added his personal style to make it his own. “I have been watching Del Toro for a bit now. I’ve always liked how a slipper can come off effortless and extremely stylish at the same time. In my travels back and forth to Miami I finally met the co-founder and Creative Director behind Del Toro Matthew Chevellard. He immediately got my vision and we knew we could make something really sexy together.” Theophilus began designing his slipper to match the lifestyle of his LVRS brand and flip the way slippers have traditionally been worn. The most notable feature of the Italian made slipper is the custom designed rose crest. The rose has been a theme and inspiration in Theophilus’ music and travels since the start of 2012. In January he commenced the “Tour de Roses” tour in the US and has since taken the show overseas to tour in Europe (he embarks on his 2nd European Run on July 6th). Other notable details on the slipper are the star emblems on the side of the shoe and the LVRS initials on the back.

Theophilus London X Del Toro is the artists second shoe collaboration. His first foray into shoe design was with COLE HAAN last year where he added a jazzy calypso blue color way to the brands legendary suede buck and made it his own. Theophilus also designed the infamous LVRS snapback with fresh.Iam in 2010. Stay tuned for more designs from Brooklyn’s best dressed in the future.

In addition to the new “Theophilus London X Del Toro” collaboration the artist has another special release on deck. The musician released “Rose Island Vol. 1”, his 4th mixtape project 12:01AM on Tuesday, July 3rd . This is his first mixtape project since the release of “I want You” in 2010. Theophilus has returned to his roots with the goal of getting back to the basics for the recording of “Rose Island Vol. 1.” In typical TL fashion, there’s something for everyone on “Rose Island Vol. 1” which is filled with hip hop bangers, electronic club tracks, sing along anthems and, of course, a couple slow jams for the ladies. Rose Island is an imaginary place in TL’s head where he goes when he needs to escape reality and time. Theophilus London is signed the Warner Bros Music and has also released “Timez Are Weird These Days” and “Times Are Weird These nights” with the label.
