RIA MICHELLE
Interview and photography by May May
I first met Ria Michelle about a year ago at a fashion event for a local designer. She stood out in the room with her unique style. We casually talked and exchanged information that night. Since then we’ve run into to each other a few times and tweeted back and forth till we finally got together to chat and get to know her better.
I went over Ria’s home and spent the day with her. I was able to venture through her closet and see all her fab shoes, clothes and many accessories. It’s always fun to go through another girls closet, especially when they are into fashion. She also gets to sample products for her blog such as creams, lip gloss and many others. Ria gives you her input on these products via Twitter and her blog. As I continued through her home I noticed her doll collection. She mentioned that she recently started it. The dolls vary from Vintage Barbie’s to the Toki Doki ones as well. I also got to see her workspace where she runs her online boutique. There was amazing clothes, shoes and jewelry ready to be shipped out. I had to contain myself from all the cute stuff I wanted to buy while I was there. During our conversation I got a little history on Ria and the best part of my day was shooting her. Now it’s time to Get Familiar:
Ria Michelle has been in the Miami area for about a little over a year. She has been blogging since her early teens and is also a stylist. Although she has been blogging for many years, the past 2 years she has focused on fashion.
Ria’s style is ever so changing. She dresses on how she feels. I asked her to describe her style in 3 words and this is what she said “Edgy, Girly and Boho”. There is also something about Ria Michelle that is very noticeable as well, her hair. Her hair varies in styles and she always has a highlight of color in it. The color can range from purple, blue or even red. I asked her why the pop of color and she explains that “She feels naked if she does not have color in her hair”. Just like there are many layers in Ria’s style, as a person she is also fun, loves to laugh, dance, watch TV and is quite the under cover nerd. That’s right she loves to play Sims. Sorry fella’s she has a boyfriend!
With her love of fashion she decided to start an online boutique www.filthymagic.com going strong now for 2 years. You can find the latest trends from clothes to shoes and also accessories that are lasting pieces, all the more reason to shop. Filthy Magic also has a great sale section along with the occasional giveaway. Make sure to check out her boutique.
I asked her where she sees herself as a blogger in the near future and she said “I would love to make a living of it, along with some collaborations with her favorite brands as well as styling”.
Here is her info if you would like to follow her and see what she is up too,
