Every month during the second Saturday we have art walk at the Design District. There are lots of great showings ranging from sculptures, paintings, spaces and photography; however, if your are looking for something which will evoke all kinds of emotions, you need to stop by AE District for the “MY HEART WONT LET YOU GO” show. Werd!
April 6th, 2011 thru May 28th 2011
Pulitzer Prize Recipient Patrick Farrell will be sharing some of his experiences shooting in Haiti in a solo photography exhibition. AE District will be showing a collection of photographs that capture the raw emotions during some of the most catastrophic moments Haiti and its people have endured over the past two decades. This exhibition reminds us of our vulnerabilities and limitations in the presence of nature and that our moral responsibility to fellow man is truly a responsibility to ourselves.
All proceeds from the exhibit will go towards funding the award-winning Haitian dance company Ayikodans led by choreographer and Haitian activist, Jeanguy Saintus (www.ayikodans.com).
