When going to an exhibit opening at KidRobot Miami you never know what you will find. The place is intimate yet it has enough space to accommodate any artist. On this occasion the show was put together by local artist Aisha Blakey.
The exhibit is called
“SECOND MOUSE”.
It will be at KidRobot Miami Beach for 8 more weeks. Go see it and support your local artist. Werd!

TWIT: How long have you been in Miami?
AB: I was born and raised in miami, so really I’ve only left miami for a little more then four years.
TWIT: What was your inspiration for this show?
AB: I was thinking about kidrobot and the baggage of having a show around so many different other kinds of art. So I based this show around toys and their effect on people, old and young.
TWIT: What was the biggest challenge during the creation process?
AB: Time and space, but mostly time.
TWIT: What is your biggest pet peeve while working?
AB: Hunger, previous appointments, fatigue, basically anything that causes me to halt production.
TWIT: If you could do a collaborative piece of art, who would you do it with and why?
AB: Random people off the street. But to elaborate, there are a lot of artists I would love to work with. But sometimes the most random, unexpected person can give you the best perspective. And sometimes someone whose work you love, does not work well with you.
TWIT: Where can people reach you if they want some of your work?
AB: I have a website up < www.aishablakey.com > . But I will warn, at the moment it is a flash website, I’m working on the HTML site. Also, try my facebook, aisha blakey.
