In case you are new to the sneaker game for the last couple of years the DunkXChange has been setting up shop all over the United States to give a place for the Smaller brands to show case their goods. Also DXC is a place were you can find dead stock sneaker’s that have been sold out for a while. They have also made it possible for the sneaker community to have a place to get together young or old and show what they got. Before I forget you can buy, sell or trade. So this Saturday July, 31st go get some or sell some or just go hang with a bunch of sneaker heads. Werd!

Get Familiar: Kristina Ashley | Miami, FL

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Swim Week Miami 2010 has come and gone so what better time to get familiar with Kristina Ashley. Kristina is a Miami native, fashionista, entrepreneur and yes the next big thing. She completed her studies at Miami International University of Art and Design. While she interned with Julian Chang renowned evening gown designer, she knew that she was meant to design swimwear. Living in a city where the sun is always shining, Kristina has designed unique pieces that will make you stand out. I got the chance to see her latest collection during swim week and it’s very girlie and vivid in colors. Here is a little more on her.

Like always the people over at IamYourVillain looking to bring you something fresh and new! They have come up with a little something to finish or start your week on the right foot…

IamYourVillain is proud to present Tom Laroc and DJ ELLE representing hip hop greats Ghostface Killah, RZA, Gucci Mane, and Young Jeezy at Miami’s most infamous party, Chocolate Sundays at Purdy Lounge this Sunday, July 25^th.

There will be four simultaneous turntables with Tom Laroc spinning all vinyl handling Ghost Face Killah and RZA then DJ ELLE on Serato scratching to Gucci Mane and Young Jezzy. They will be battling throughout the night, with Soarse Spoken on the mic hyping it up.

Black Chocolate will be bumping in the back room, with DJ’s Ray Millian (Best of Miami) and globe trotter Puerto Rican Tamara Sky, who was voted Miami’s best DJ of 2010.

Before I forget here is the location: Purdy Lounge is located at 1811 Purdy Avenue in Miami, FL. Party begins at 10 pm.

Get Familiar: Lorie Lester | Miami, FL

Know the name Lorie Lester? Well if you don’t get familiar. I visited Lorie in her South Beach studio where we talked about her upcoming line and store opening set to launch late summer early fall. Lorie Lester was established in 2007 after graduating from The Miami International University of Art and Design. Her clothing line consist of many silks, micro modal, and organic cottons. The price range is between $50-$200 $$$. She is also a strong believer in keeping all her garment manufacturing made in the U.S.A. Lorie wants to inspire women to feel amazing and confident and it doesn’t hurt if you can turn some heads while rocking one of her pieces. I asked her a few questions to get more familiar with her and here is what she had to say:

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Miami 2010

Hello Summer! This week kicked off the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Miami 2010. If you thought it was hot in Miami, well it’s just about to get hotter when you peep Kristina Ashley’s new swim suite collection for 2010. Last night over at Blue Martini, Mary Brickell Village was the debut show to a packed house. I had the opportunity to ask Kristina to describe her latest collection in three words and she answered “Flowery, Girlie and Vibrant”. Stay tuned for our interview with this talented fashionista. Time!

Time, I know you are there. Time, I managed you but I never have enough to spare. Time, people talk about you as if you can hear them. Time, I don’t see you but I feel you in my aching bones… Yet, I always have a reminder that you exist on my wrist.

Everyone goes through a period in life were they like to own a wrist watch. For some it becomes just something they wear once in a while. For others it’s what keeps them on schedule. Then there are people like me who just like watches; therefore, I get one every time I get a chance. Right now one of my old time favorites has done a huge comeback with the same classic style in many different colors. I’m talking about the G-Shock by Casio.

Casio has manage to stay relevant no matter what. In my opinion is one of the best and most affordable watches in the market… I call it “Affordable Wrist Luxury”.

Besides G-shock there are other brands whom have reinvented themselves. It’s said that reinvention is the mother of success! Also new brands have stepped in to the market such as “Nooka” affordable yet stylish. Werd!
